General Classification Information

Classification Guidelines:

1. If a team has 5 or more players from a higher classified team, they must petition to move down to the lower classification.

2. Players coming from teams that were above 500 in the classification last season are still considered to be classed at that level. If they were below 500 in last seasons classification, they are considered to be of the lower classification. The State Office reserves the right to amend this due to the fact that a 18-19 team is not the same as a 2-19 team in classification.

These are general guidelines to assist with the initial classification of a team. Once a team starts playing, results and roster additions are the only things that will be considered to evaluate classification.

Only USSSA results posted online at www.usssa.com will be used to determine classification.

Who can play in what events:

1. Teams can play up in age and down in class for any weekend event. The norm is up an age and down a class.

2. Teams can play up in age and down in one class for super nit's, state level 2 events and global state.

3. Teams must play in their age group and classification for USSSA State events. If you play up an age group, you must play in the same classification as your team. Example 7aaa can not play 8aa for USSSA State. They can play 8aaa though.
